I tried what I thought was a good third party AC adapter to replace the one I left at a friend’s house, and it was awful. It ran SUPER hot to the point where it left scorch marks on my Ethan Allen entertainment center! After a week, it smelled like burnt plastic and then it failed. It took two days for the smell to go away even after I threw it out.
I have had zero problems with this true Microsoft AC adapter, and I’d recommend it to anyone. To put this in perspective, I run Linux on my one PC and even though I run XP on the other, I run Firefox and use StarOffice. I avoid Microsoft products like the plague, but I would NEVER EVER use any AC adapter other than Microsoft’s. I’ve seen most of them, and they are all terrible.

I had some problems with other power supplies not being compatible. This one worked perfect. It did not cost near as much as some of the $80+ powerr supplies I have seen. The bonus is it ships to Iraq for those deployed soldiers like myself who trusted the wrong person to hook up their console and ended up with a fried cable.

Read reviews that this product was no good and that people who purschased it, got one that didnt work. Well I should have listened! Mine didnt work and I was pretty ticked off because Im over in Iraq and it would be nice to have something to do in what little down time I have here!!! Thanks for the great CRAP!!

I purhased the OEM Microsoft Adapter. It arrived ok and looks it would work perfectly, if it was not for one fundamental detail: the wattage (203 W instead of 175W) of the device is not the one adequate to my Xbox console, something I learned only after the adapter arrived.
Amazon should be more careful in presenting the technical details of products it merchandises. I’m not a technician and I believe most of the people that come to this website to buy electronic goods aren’t either.
It would be nice, to say the least, that Amazon mentioned ALL the technical details of its merchandise and that the website advised consumers about aspects they should be cautious about in purchasing sepecific, technical items.
Wish I could give an input on the adapter itself, but the fact is that, given such immense flaw I see in Amazon, I cannot do it.

There are three types of power supplies for the xbox 360. A 150W, a 175W, and a 203W. Given the description as being a power brick with cord, it was implying it would work with all systems. Which it doesn’t. They need to describe what they are selling. This is a 175W, at least the one I got. Thanks for leaving out details.
